Best & Worst Dressed: The 2014 BAFTA Awards

It's time again for another Red Carpet Rundown! I'm not an awards show kind of guy so I like to give my two cents once the smoke has cleared.....but like I always say you can't hit the sheets without hitting the red carpet first. With that being said here's the next red carpet on the chopping block.

Lupita Nyong'o

Uma Thurman

I've said it before but Uma is a fashion sleeper agent. She lays low for a long time, and then bam she hits you with something good. In all seriousness though I absolutely love this dress. It's not as garish, bold, or show stopping as some of the other dresses that night. However, Uma does not fail to impress. A simple navy blue dress to show off her curves and swerves. With simple styling to go with a chic basic dress how can you go wrong. Effortless elegance is what she showed us that night, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Brava Uma Brava.

She was up for two awards at the BAFTAs one for rising star and another for Best Supporting Actress. She clearly came ready to show stop wearing a strapless green Dior gown, Lupita’s stylist clearly has an affinity for putting this stunner in a bold look at me color. Granted green wouldn’t have been my first choice, but it looks phenomenal on her. The “12 Years of Slaves” star has been receiving critical acclaim for her acting and modeling work recently, she seems to have been sopping up some attention from Jared Leto. The pair have been spotted on several occasions looking very cozy together. Who would blame her though? He’s a very good looking man and acclaimed in his own right. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…..I love me some Lupita.

Angelina Jolie-Pitt

The entire award season has been pretty quiet for Angelina this year. She makes the spot on my best dressed for trying something new. I loved her matching his/hers look with her husband Brad Pitt. This bombshell rocked her custom tailored St Laurent suit for all it was worth. It was chic and powerful. Granted this was not by any means a the best of the evening, but as you all know I live for a woman who can pull off a suit (ex. Janelle Monae). Apparently Vogue seemed to agree with me as they named her in their top 10 as well. With award season over until May we have plenty more looks to come. Stay tuned for more.

Perceived Style

My name is Kevin Kamari Foreman but you can call me Kam for short. I am a New York based up and coming designer/stylist. The idea to begin blogging about fashion came about over a glass of wine with a designer friend of mine Kenny M. at the end of 2013. I was showing him some of the looks I had put together for my birthday when he turned to me and said - "you have a good eye... maybe you should try getting into fashion yourself." That's when Perceived Style was born. I have an obsession with classic American prep, bodybuilding, grooming, beauty products, and fashion in general so it was a good fit for me. Before my blogging days I used to be very depressed, very overweight, self conscious, and constantly self-defeating myself. Fashion helped pull me out of that. It taught me to live life, love the skin I'm in, and care about what's on it. So when I was creating the blog it was easy to decide what it would be about. The main focus of Perceived Style is to inspire people to be comfortable in their own skin, to smile more, and to care more about their overall appearance using tips and photos. Job History: I used to work at BFCU in bethpage long island. Now I am the creative directior/CEO for Perceived Style and a freelance menswear designer as of June 2014. Education: I went to Farmingdale College for 2 years then moved to Hofstra for the last 2 years. I presently am taking continuing classing in blogging, fashion writing, and design. Interests: Art, Fashion Shows, Menswear, Shopping, Photography, Womens Fashion, and Food/Movies.
